Centrale Lyon was runner-up in France at the Challenge 2024. This event, organised by the Ministry of Sports, the Ministry of Higher Education and the FFSU, was held in Vichy from 20 to 23 May as part of the Grande Cause Nationale 2024.
In the exceptional setting of the CREPS in Vichy, France's 12 best universities and 8 best grandes écoles competed over 3 days in 11 sporting disciplines. The 50-strong delegation from Centrale Lyon demonstrated their fervour, mutual support, enthusiasm and remarkable performances, taking second place behind INSA Lyon.
The event was organised on a grand scale, with opening and closing ceremonies, an Olympic village and medal presentations. The event was also visited by Sylvie Retailleau, Minister for Higher Education and Research, at the opening ceremony, and Amélie Oudéa-Castéra, Minister for Sport and the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
As a reward for their achievements, the Centrale Lyon delegation will receive 50 tickets to attend the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
A big well done to the students for their determination and exceptional performances.
