The SkyLab is a 1,200 m² open-access area that will offer new collaborative work spaces. It is attached to the Michel Serres Library. Designed to encourage creativity and an entrepreneurial spirit, it will also demonstrate the value of research and projects conducted by the laboratories. This place will also welcome businesses and academic partners, giving them access to Centrale Lyon’s innovative resources.
Collaborative work spaces
SkyLab
An open-access creativity room will allow meetings, talks and events to be held, with a capacity for about one hundred people. This modular space can be rearranged for working in small groups of 6-12 people. Other rooms that are less open-plan but still configurable (cubicles, co-design room, training room) will be available for training, experiments or even the particular needs of teachers, lecturers, researchers and partners.
A window into Ecole Centrale de Lyon’s expertise and partnerships
A showroom, which is also open access, will offer a virtual campus tour and highlight research and student projects as well as productions and facilities. This room will cast a spotlight on some of our very important research partnerships such as the LIA/UMI, LabEx, chairs and the Carnot Institute.
Anyone not studying or working at Centrale Lyon can rent out rooms at the SkyLab, depending on availability. Visit the space rental page.
The SkyLab is currently under development. It is expected to open in Autumn 2021.
