Vincent Clair graduated with a master's degree in general engineering from EIGSI and a master's degree in numerical modelling in mechanics from the Université de La Rochelle. He received his PhD in acoustics from the Université-Claude-Bernard-Lyon-I in 2013 for his doctoral work at ONERA within the aeroacoustics team. He then worked as a postdoctoral research fellow at the Institute of Sound and Vibration Research at the University of Southampton as a member of the Rolls-Royce University Technology Center in Gas Turbine Noise. He joined Ecole Centrale de Lyon in 2016 as an assistant professor in the Department of Fluid Mechanics, Acoustics and Energetics (MFAE) and in the Fluid Mechanics and Acoustics Laboratory (LMFA - UMR CNRS 5509). His research interests involve the numerical simulation of turbomachinery noise and the scattering of acoustic waves by turbulence.
