Romain Rieger graduated from the University of Strasbourg and received his PhD in Mechanics at the University of Orléans in 2011. After a post-doctorate at École nationale supérieure des mines de Saint-Étienne, he earned an Assistant Professor position in 2012 at École Centrale de Lyon. His research at the Tribology and System Dynamics Laboratory (LTDS) focuses on the numerical approach of osteoarticular tissue adaptation mechanisms. After the development of a numerical coupling model between cellular activity and bone mechanical behaviour during his PhD thesis, he is now studying fluid-structure interaction phenomenon in osteoarticular tissues. The main objectives of his research deal with the assumption and the validation of mechanical criterions responsible for normal or pathological osteoarticular tissues changes in a physiological environment.
