Gaylord Guillonneau holds a PhD in Mechanics of solids, materials, structures and surfaces, in the LTDS (Laboratoire de Tribologie et Dynamique des Systèmes), at Ecole Centrale de Lyon (2012). He holds a degree in Engineering at Ecole Nationale d’Ingénieurs de Saint-Etienne (ENISE, 2009). He holds a Technology degree in mechanics at IUT du Mans (2006). After a first postdoctoral fellowship in ENISE, he moved to Switzerland during 2 years to work as a postdoc researcher in an international laboratory (EMPA, Thun), in the domain of mechanics of materials and surfaces at micro/nanoscale. He is actually Assistant Professor at Ecole Centrale de Lyon since 2015. He is teaching lessons and practical courses in the field of Materials Engineering. His research work is performed in the LTDS, in the TPCDI team (Tribologie, Physico-Chimie et Dynamique des Interfaces). His work is focused on the experimental and numerical investigation of the mechanical properties of wear surfaces.
