Catherine Bru-Chevallier graduated from École normale supérieure de Cachan and received her PhD in Physics from Orsay University – Paris-XI where she studied the non-stationary electronic transport in III-V semiconductors. She is currently Senior Researcher at the French CNRS, and was Director of the Lyon Institute of Nanotechnology (INL) from 2015 to 2020. She is mainly involved in optical spectroscopy of III-V semiconductor heterostructures and nanostructures (quantum dots and nanowires) using photoluminescence as well as photoreflectance spectroscopy. She has developed local optical spectroscopy set-ups in order to characterise operating devices (transistors) as well as single nanostructures. She is interested in the integration of III-V semiconductors on silicon in order to get light emission from devices on silicon substrates. She has authored and co-authored about 140 publications in international journals and conferences.
