The IVTV (Living Tissue Engineering and Ageing) facility of excellence began life as a proposal for a large-scale, health and biology project unique to Europe, to be established in Lyon and Saint-Étienne.
After its selection by the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research, this proposal led to the creation of a platform equipped with innovative tools for the study of ageing in human tissue.
For the first time, a dual scientific approach could be carried out in biology and mechanical engineering, with the objective of improving the public’s health through the development of new therapies.
