Physicochemical engineer with a PhD from Paris VI University, Frédéric Dubreuil spent 2 years as a post-doctoral fellow at the Max Planck Institute in Postdam (Germany). He was then recruted lecturer at the Grenoble Alpes University from 2004 to 2020, in CERMAV where he worked on the characterization of polysaccharides and their interactions by near field microscopy (HDR in 2106). In delegation at the Ecole Centrale de Lyon since 2016, he joined l’Ecole Centrale de Lyon and the Tribology and Systems Dynamics Laboratory. His research focuses on the use of near field microscopy techniques for the characterization of tribological phenomena: it involves characterizing on the nanometric scale the properties of adhesion, friction, wear of surfaces of controlled chemistry and to link them to the structure, composition or mechanical properties of the materials.
