Catherine Larose is a newly recruited CNRS CR2 (2013) who completed her PhD in Earth Sciences at Université Joseph Fourier, Grenoble, in 2010. She has published several articles related to biogeochemistry, contaminant cycling and extreme environments and is developing a French Arctic snow microbiology research theme at the Ampère Laboratory. Catherine Larose has participated and led over 10 field campaigns in the Arctic. Her work focuses on understanding how microbial community function and structure depends on bacterial adaptation to changing environments, and exploits next generation sequencing in order to understand microbial community adaptation and evolution.
